Tough Enough To Wear Pink nights:

After the time and energy I put into the Tough Enough To Wear Pink night in Carbondale this past summer I figured that I had probably earned some "Karma Kredits".

I was wrong.

On Thursday October 25, 2007 my wife, Leslie, had a lump removed from her left breast. The following day we heard the word that no one wants to hear...cancer.  We are in the early stages of this battle and aren't quite sure what to expect but I will update this page as we know more.

For those of you that pray, please do. For those of you that don't, we will pray for you.

We are ready to win this fight.

The Susan G. Komen foundation is an amazing group consisting of Doctors, healers, friends, family and..most importantly..SURVIVORS.

I'm glad that I had done research about breast cancer prior to this so I knew that the survival rate is very high and that there are so many people that have been affected. Already the support group is gathering for us and that is incredibly reassuring.  We'll keep you posted as things progress.

July 1st 2008:

Leslie has finished Chemotherapy and Radiation and is on her way through the recovery process. She is doing well and is excited to be part of the Tough Enough To Wear Pink Rodeo in Carbondale this year. Thank you all for the thoughts and prayers, they gave us the strength to fight a good fight.

Check out the Komen/Aspen website and click on the Survivors tab to see how we've taken the story public in an effort to help fight this disease.

We have also done media for Cheyenne Regional Medical Center and will continue to do what we can to bring exposure and understanding to this disease.

January 2009:

Leslie has received the "All Clear" from her oncologist, she is cancer free. Now we get to work on staying that way. Please do regular self exams and encourage others to do so. If you're not sure, have a Doctor check. If you're still not sure, have another Doctor check. It was luck and Divine intervention (can you have both?) that Leslie had the lump removed before it got worse.  I can not stress enough that early detection is the key to survival.

My wife is a survivor and I couldn't be more proud of her.

And I couldn't be more thankful for her and the incredible support we received. Thank you all!

God Bless Chris LeDoux
